Champillon sits on south-facing slopes above Dizy, on the cordon that overlooks the Marne valley toward Épernay. The village is best known not for a particular vineyard or producer but for the panoramic view: Bellevue, the small hamlet at the top of the slope, is the postcard angle of the region and home to the Royal Champagne, a five-star, Michelin-starred hotel-restaurant that draws visitors more for the view of Champagne than for any single cuvée. The vineyard area is modest and split fairly evenly between Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay. Major maisons hold a meaningful share of the land.
