Parcelles ("we", "our", or "the app") is an application for exploring the vineyards and villages of the Champagne wine region. Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Parcelles does not require you to create an account. We do not collect your name, email address, or contact details. We do not track your location for analytics, your browsing habits, or your usage patterns. We do not use advertising SDKs or third-party tracking tools. The only data the app transmits about you is described in Section 2.
The app may cache vineyard data, map tiles, and your preferences (such as display settings) locally on your device. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.
Purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive, store, or have access to your payment information, Apple ID, or billing details. We only receive a confirmation that a purchase was made to unlock the corresponding features.
When you download or purchase Parcelles, Apple processes the transaction under its own Privacy Policy. We have no control over Apple's data practices.
The app loads map tiles, terrain data, and basemap styles from Mapbox. These requests transmit your device's IP address to Mapbox.
The Mapbox SDK also collects anonymous telemetry to help Mapbox improve their maps product. This may include: your device's IP address, an anonymous rotating session identifier, device model, operating system version, app version, user agent, timestamps, connectivity information, and aggregated map usage events. If you have granted Parcelles permission to access your location, Mapbox additionally receives location data (latitude, longitude, altitude, and accuracy) while you use map features. None of this data is linked to a personal identity by us, and we never receive it ourselves.
You can opt out of Mapbox telemetry at any time by tapping the information button (ⓘ) on any map screen and disabling "Mapbox Telemetry". For full details on Mapbox's data handling and retention, see Mapbox's Privacy Policy.
Vineyard and terroir data is served from a Supabase-hosted database. API requests transmit your device's IP address. No personal information, device identifiers, or user accounts are involved in these requests.
To diagnose crashes and bugs, the app sends anonymous error reports to Sentry, hosted on servers located in the European Union (Germany). When the app crashes or encounters an error, Sentry receives a stack trace, the device model, the operating system version, the app version, the device language and locale, and the IP address used to send the report.
We do not attach screenshots, view hierarchies, user-entered text, account identifiers, or any other personally identifiable information to these reports. Performance traces and behavioural analytics are disabled — Sentry receives data only when something goes wrong. Reports are retained for up to 90 days and used solely to identify and fix bugs. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing a stable, secure application (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). For details on Sentry's own data handling, see Sentry's Privacy Policy.
Parcelles is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal data from children. Since we do not collect personal data from any user, no special provisions are necessary.
Since we do not collect personal data, there is nothing to retain or delete. Locally cached data on your device can be cleared by deleting the app.
Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP), and similar laws, you have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data held about you. Since Parcelles does not collect personal data, these rights are satisfied by default.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at hello@parcelles.app.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
