Montbré is a small Premier Cru on the southern edge of Reims, on a mild north-facing slope, predominantly Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. The village has 259 inhabitants, no famous resident house, and most of its fruit is sold to the major maisons. It is one of several quiet Petite Montagne villages whose Premier Cru status reflects historical Échelle ratings rather than any current marquee identity.
