Villers-aux-Nœuds is a small Petite Montagne village with vineyards on the slope that climbs toward the Montagne, leaning to Pinot Noir despite the surrounding Meunier-dominated subregion. The village's modern profile is built almost entirely around a single grower-vineyard pairing: a southeast-facing parcel called Le Mont Benoît, planted in 1962, that has become the source of one of the most cited single-vineyard bottlings of the modern minimalist grower-Champagne movement.
